Because

I get asked in so many interviews, so many friends and family, why. Why do you play in a band? Doesn't seem like you make money, doesn't seem like there's much personal gain. My responses have ranged over the years, I've had long conversations about it and also giving quick answers. For myself, simply now it's this, Because looking into these kids faces and seeing into their worlds and how much they need music and need this show, that drives me and makes me realize how much I needed it, and still need it.

Getting off a stage and onto the floor with all of them looking at me, each face expressing a different but important emotion, that makes me feel everything about whatever song I've written. They all remind me why I'm alive and here on this earth.

I owe them everything I am. Because.
